Many people thought it was a foregone conclusion that Jay Hughes would sign at Mississippi State where his father, Tony Hughes, is an assistant coach.



But the three-star prospect took a look around and enjoyed the recruiting process before ultimately becoming a Bulldog after all. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder made things official today signing his national letter of intent.

Hughes was a standout in the backfield at Oak Grove but will switch over to defense and play corner when he arrives at MSU.
