Auburn has extended an offer to one of the state's top junior wide receivers.

LeFlore's Danny Woodson, Jr., 6-2, 200 pounds, received the news Thursday during a telephone conversation with Auburn coach and recruiter Curtis Luper.

"When Coach Luper told me they were offering, I was excited," said Woodson, Jr. "I knew it was coming because I had talked to Coach (Gene) Chizik before and knew he really liked my highlight film.

"I was still really excited."
