GamecockCentral.com NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- South Carolina's season likely ended on Thursday with a 68-63 loss to Alabama in the first round of the SEC tournament, but there is a slim hope. The Gamecocks (15-16) finished below .500, which would have ruled them out of the NIT in past years. The NIT rules have changed, though, and do not require a team to be .500 or better to be invited.
