Shaq joining Cook in Columbus
The last time Maple Heights (Ohio) wide receiver prospect Shaquille Washington stepped on a college campus was over two weeks ago when he took an unofficial visit to Michigan State.
However, since then, "It's been pretty quiet over my way. I've just been in contact with some schools," Washington told SpartanMag.com Monday night.
During his time in East Lansing, Washington caught up with the MSU coaches, and most of his conversations were with his primary recruiter, defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. Then, Narduzzi indicated the staff would be meeting early the next week to discuss Washington's offer status, and recently the Spartans updated where he stands.
"They basically told me that everybody loved me up there and they want to get me in camp to see me play receiver," Washington said, "and they want to give on-field coaching with me knowing that I don't play receiver in high school. So I guess they want to see me do that in camp."
Washington (5-8, 147) plans to take the Spartans up on their camp invite.
"I think we have a date on the Raw Talent bus tour where we go to Michigan State. But it's not for sure yet," he said. "But, yeah, I definitely plan on trying to get up there for camp."
