FNL Notebook: Pagan is solid to Gators
Asheville (N.C.) defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan, a Rivals100 member and one of the country's most sought-after defensive lineman, committed to the Florida Gators in April during an unofficial visit to Gainesville.
But not long after, that pledge began to look a little shaky.
A month later, Pagan told Gatorbait.net he was "70 to 80" percent committed. In June, while telling VolQuest.com he still was committed to the Gators, several schools were equal.
"I kinda felt like it was early and my family hadn't been involved," Pagan explained at the time. "They like Florida, but they want to make sure I'm making the right decision and not rushing into anything. They want me to see anything and anywhere. I'm now a soft commitment."
Just as this commitment appeared to be slipping from Florida's grasp, along came Friday Night Lights, the Gators' one-day camp extravaganza that took place Friday in Gainesville.
Afterward, Pagan said he was firm to Florida.
