Three-star tackle talks recruiting
Columbus, Ga., three-star prospect Quincy McKinney has been a busy man this summer.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound offensive tackle visited eight campuses and currently holds 16 scholarship offers.
Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Maryland, Memphis, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Rutgers, South Carolina, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky have all extended offers to McKinney.
With such an extensive list, McKinney and his mother are trying to cut it down to a manageable number to start focusing on but he still does not have a time frame in mind to make his choice.
"I'm not sure about a decision," McKinney said. "Right now me and my mom are trying to narrow it down to a Top 8 or so."
This summer McKinney has made stops at Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Florida State and the final two at Southern Miss and South Carolina.
"I went to South Carolina with my mom and my cousin," McKinney said. "I think South Carolina's facilities are the best that I have visited football-wise. It's just so nice. It was kind of cool meeting Steve Spurrier because he's a legendary coach and has a lot of wins. It was cool for him just to say my name. I did their showcase camp and worked with Coach (Shawn) Elliott. He's a first year coach there and he was telling me what he expects out of his linemen at South Carolina and how he wants to win.
