For UF's Burton, team comes first
Trey Burton's performance in last week's 48-14 win over Kentucky was one for the ages. All told, the talented true freshman scored a school-record six touchdowns -- five on runs and one via reception. Despite that success, Burton appears to have stayed grounded. His goal, he says, is simply to help the team any way he can. On Monday, Burton talked about a variety of subjects.
Here's what he had to say
About his performance Saturday night:
"I did the best I could do and [went] as hard as I can. I thought the offensive line, they played an awesome game as you guys saw and I'm real thankful to them."
About his football IQ, which Florida coach Urban Meyer said was "off the charts:"
"I'm not sure where [he picked it up]. I love football. I love playing. I'm not too sure. My grandfather [Lawrence Burton] played in the NFL. So, maybe it came from him. I just try to do everything I can to gain an advantage."
