Woodson set to roll with Tide
SAN ANTONIO -- Danny Woodson has been committed to Alabama since March of last year for a reason.
The four-star wide receiver from Mobile, Ala., has been a fan of the Crimson Tide growing up and couldn't imagine taking his talents anywhere other than Tuscaloosa after receiving a scholarship offer from head coach Nick Saban.
"It's just once you go up there, you feel like home," Woodson said during registration at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Sunday. "No matter what, everybody loves you. Everybody shows you a good time, and when you get up there, you have a good time."
But even though Woodson spoke with secondary coach Jeremy Pruitt before Alabama's win against Michigan State at the Capital One Bowl on Saturday, there still are some other schools in play.
Once he's done with the Army Bowl, Woodson plans to take his official visit to Alabama (Jan. 21), then he could take one to Florida State and Tennessee before National Signing Day.
Seminoles quarterbacks coach Dameyune Craig has made a visit to Florida State seem like a must-do.
"Just talking to coach Craig," Woodson said, "sometimes makes it feel like you just wanna go up there and check it out and be around there."
Woodson might take those visits, but he also doesn't want Alabama fans to be worried about his commitment. At this point he considers himself firm in his desire to sign a letter-of-intent to the Crimson Tide.
"I still plan to sign with Alabama," Woodson said. "I don't plan on going to no other school. I'm just going to check it out."
In fact, when asked about the chances of him putting pen to paper for Alabama in February, Woodson responded with two words: "Roll Tide."
