Texarkana (Texas) lineman John Michael McGee had multiple offers entering last week. On Tuesday, he added one more.

For the 6-foot-4, 255-pound McGee, it was a big one.

"It was from the national champions," said McGee. "I talked to Coach (Curtis) Luper from Auburn and he assured me I had an offer."

McGee said it came as a surprise.

"My coach told me they were interested and might offer, but I didn't believe him because who would think they would get an offer from the national champions? But they offered me. ...
