KU one win away from Final Four
San Antonio, Texas -- The tone of Fridays Sweet 16 contest between No. 1 seed Kansas (35-2; 17-2) and No. 12 seed Richmond (29-8; 16-3) was set long before the tipoff. On Thursday afternoon, Marcus Morris issued a warning to the Spiders when he told them to be ready to play the following night. Prior to Fridays tip, Kansas and Richmond crossed paths before taking the court, and words were exchanged by several players during the game. No player was more fired up than senior Brady Morningstar, who was hit with a technical foul in the second half for jawing with a Spider following a successful three-pointer, scored a team-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-7 from behind the arc. Kansas, in advancing to Sundays Elite Eight, dominated Richmond to the tune of 77-57.
