With all of last week off and still almost a month to go before Florida State takes on Notre Dame, the Seminoles will finally have a chance to heal some nagging injuries.
Fisher expects to have almost everyone back and ready for the bowl game, including Brandon Jenkins and Kenny Shaw who both suffered concussions in the regular season finale against Florida. He also said that quarterback EJ Manuel is fine and his injured shoulder isn't bothering him at all.
"Everybody should be fine," Fisher said. "That's what I like about our schedule and our bowl schedule. Should be very healthy, should be a very healthy team."
The only player who was not already ruled out for the season due to injury that Fisher doesn't expect to have is true freshman Karlos Williams who broke his wrist against the Gators.
"I think they're going to go back in and put a pin in that wrist," Fisher said of Williams. "He should be ready for Spring ball."
With all the time off leading up to a bowl game, Fisher said that many times teams don't even resemble the squads that were on the field for the regular season finale.
"You can become a different football team depending on if you get guys back or if you've lost guys," he said. "This is like a second total season, it's not a continuation of you're season. You get a chance to get so many guys back hopefully from injury, and you're team can take a different dynamic in how you play and how you prepare."
When asked if any of his assistant coaches had been contacted about potential head coaching jobs by other schools Fisher said that "not one" had been contacted. But if they were he said he wouldn't be the guy to stand in their way and he hopes that the job defensive coordinator Mark Stoops has done will lead to the potential to be a head coach sometime soon.
"I want him to be, just like I wanted to be," Fisher said of Stoops being considered for head coaching jobs. "I'm not against that. I'm for that. I think change is good and I think opportunity it good. That's why you're in this business. I'm not a guy that would ever block a guy from doing that."
