Dantonio: 'We'll handle it and move on'
EAST LANSING - Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio indicated that an inability to run the football, a lack of explosive plays on offense, and the absence of takeaways on defense were all factors in his team's 20-3 loss to Notre Dame at Spartan Stadium on Saturday night.
Dropped passes and poor pass protection also hurt the Spartans, who were held to 237 yards of total offense by the Fighting Irish defense.
"Football can define you at times and that's what this game will do," Dantonio said. "We have to pick up the pieces. All of our goals are in front of us. We had a tough deal with Notre Dame, and responded. It has to start with Eastern Michigan next week and continue into the Big Ten season. I felt like we played hard and kept pushing."
