We here at Warchant.com know that our members have busy schedules. It's hard to keep track of every event of every day leading up to a Seminole football Saturday. That's why we've created this convenient feature, a one-stop shop where the big happenings and developments of the week all are laid out prior to kickoff with this week's opponent: North Carolina State.
Top Stories
Florida State again enters the weekend with a relatively healthy roster, but that isn't true for the opponent. This weekend's whiparound begins with health issues in Raleigh.
N.C. State offensive line
It was announced Thursday that North Carolina State will start its fourth different offensive line in six weeks. Starting left tackle Rob Crisp has not played since the opener against Tennessee, and two others have started in the slot since Crisp's injury. The Wolfpack lost right tackle Zach Allen last week in Miami to a lower leg injury. Allen will not be playing this weekend either.
ACC to remain an eight-game slate
It was announced this week that, with Notre Dame playing five ACC games per season, the conference will not switch to a nine-game schedule as previously discussed. The slate for football season will remain at eight games, something that suits head coach Jimbo Fisher just fine.
Tightening up on the road
Head coach Jimbo Fisher stressed that the team will look to clean up some situational shortcomings from a 30-17 win over USF last Saturday in Tampa. One way the team will prepare for playing in Carter-Finley Stadium (the Seminoles' first true road environment) will be to have the quarterbacks whisper in practice in order to streamline nonverbal communication. Fisher added that the typical amount of pumping in noise over the practice fields will be part of team preparation.
