Randolph the latest XU commit
The Xavier Musketeers received their latest set of good news on Wednesday afternoon when Brandon Randolph picked up the phone and told head coach Chris Mack that he wanted to play his home games at the Cintas Center.
A 6-foot-2 combo guard from Inglewood, California, Randolph was considered to be one of the top sleeper prospects on the west coast.
Playing with Pump-N-Run this past summer, Randolph garnered the attention of several Pac-12 programs but did not receive any official scholarship offers from the conference.
Randolph is known as an explosive playmaking guard with good explosiveness off of the floor. He's capable of playing either guard position, can shoot the ball out to the three-point line, and has the defensive toughness that Xavier coaches are looking for.
With Dee Davis and Semaj Christon returning next year, plus Myles Davis gaining eligibility, the addition of Randolph should solidify a solid four guard rotation for the Musketeers.
After taking visits to both Xavier and Missouri the last two weeks, the three-star guard decided that he had gone through the recruiting process thoroughly and was ready to commit to the Musketeers.
The commitment of Randolph marks the third commitment in the last two weeks for the Musketeers, joining 2013 wing Kamall Richards and 2014 forward Melvin Swift.
Richards and Randolph now make for two letters of intent that will hit Xavier fax machines during the fall signing period over the course of the next week.
With three seniors on the roster, plus one open scholarship, the Musketeers are expected to take up to two more players in their 2013 recruiting class.
