Findlay Prep coach Todd Simon confirmed via text message on Monday evening that Michigan State coach Tom Izzo had extended a scholarship offer to 6-foot-9 senior forward Gavin Schilling.

The Spartans made their move after Izzo and MSU assistantDane Fife watched the fast-rising post prospect score 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting in a 55-36 win against Fort Walton Beach in the Penny Hardaway Shootout at Dyer County (Tenn.) High School last Friday. Later in the tournament, Schilling pulled down 11 boards in a 55-34 win over Melrose (Tenn.) High.
