One of the Red Raiders' first verbal commitment for the class of 2006, Midland (TX) running back Baron Batch made no secret of the fact that he wanted to ensure that Texas Tech was the place for him. The West Texas standout visited prestigious academic institutions like Duke and Northwestern and listened to pitches from Purdue and Texas A&M. Today, however, Batch made his pledge to the Scarlet and Black official.
