Nellum's turn to burn
The speed of light is 299,792,458 miles per meter, and while Long Beach, Calif., Poly wide receiver Bryshon Nellum has yet to be offered a scholarship for football, his recent track times indicate that he's capable of running down the spotlight in any sport.
Currently holding the state's best marks in the 200 and 400-meters, Nellum hasn't finished monopolizing headlines.
"I'm just hitting full stride right now," said Nellum, who holds the nation's fastest time in the 400-meters. "It's the best I've felt in the 400 (meters) and 200 (meters). I think once I get to state, I'll be running my fastest. My goal is to drop below 45.00 in the 400."
At the CIF Southern Section Division-I Finals last weekend, Nellum won the 200-meters with a time of 21.06. At the Mt. SAC Relays earlier this year, Nellum ran a 20.99, which is the nation's third fastest time in the 200.
