Underclassmen star in Norman
If anyone wanted a glimpse into the future of Oklahoma recruiting, the place to be was in Norman on Saturday afternoon. While very few of the Sooners targets for 2007 showed up for the opening day of the six days of camp numerous prospects for 2008, and even a few 2009 prospects showed up at the Oklahoma intramural fields on Saturday afternoon.
Leading the charge were John Williams and Justin Johnson, possibly the top juniors in Oklahoma and Texas respectively.
Williams, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive line prospect from the tradition rich Booker T. Washington program in Tulsa has been talked about since he won a spot in the Hornet starting line-up almost the moment he enrolled as a sophomore at Booker T.
Another player that will be in Norman until Monday afternoon is Gilmer, Texas' prize product Johnson. The big running back showed up looking to be a chiseled 6-foot-1, and 205-pounds.
