Top Junior on Penn State's radar
Back in January, BWI introduced junior-to-be WR/DB Kenny Tate (6-3, 210) from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha to our Lions Den subscribers.
At that time we told you that DeMatha head coach, Bill McGregor, believed Tate had the natural God-given ability to become the most recruited football player he's had the privilege to coach at DeMatha Catholic.
Now, Penn State is just one of a number of schools that has told Coach McGregor a written scholarship will be on McGregor's desk at DeMatha Catholic on Sept. 1, 2006.
That's the first day, under NCAA rules, that Division I-A schools are allowed to tender written scholarship offers to players entering their junior year.
Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Virginia are among the schools who have told Coach McGregor offers will be on his desk for Tate.
