Huskers looked stacked on defense
Anything less than a dominating performance on the defensive side of the football this season will be a disappointment for a Blackshirt unit that has the potential to be the best in Lincoln since the Huskers' Big 12 championship season of 1999.
Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove's unit appears to be loaded with both talent and experience, one of the major reasons Memorial Stadium is filled with optimism this week for the start of fall camp.
"Last night, I was laying in bed just thinking of the opportunity we have this year. It all starts today," said senior defensive end Jay Moore, "There's a little bit of anxiousness and a little bit of nervousness. I like our experience. There are a lot of veterans on this team - a lot of guys who have been here a lot of years.
