Boyd injury not serious; Rank, Wallace take over
While Cory Boyd's hand injury suffered Sunday night was not as serious as first feared, he was forced to sit and watch most of the contact drills during Monday's practice conducted before a crowd of about 1,000 fans at the Bluff Road Practice Fields.
It was the first workout in shoulder pads this Fall for South Carolina. After another workout in the same gear Tuesday, the Gamecocks will put on full pads Wednesday.
"The guys got a pretty good practice in. I think we made some progress," USC head coach Steve Spurrier said. "The lineman got to bump around a little bit more so it was more realistic in that way. The offensive line held their own fairly well."
