FSU lands one of the nation's top CBs
Over the last couple decades Florida State has been a powerhouse on the football field, and also on the recruiting trail. Traditionally, Bobby Bowden and his staff reel in top five classes like nobody's business. However, the 'Noles haven't had a whole lot of luck recruiting in the Big 10 region. In fact, you can probably count on one hand the number of recruits FSU signed from the Midwest over the past 20 years.
The Seminoles broke that trend in a big way on Tuesday. Orchard Lake, Michigan native Dionte Allen decided he had seen enough and called the FSU coaches to make a commitment.
"Dionte (committed to) Florida State just less than 24 hours ago," St. Mary's head coach George Porritt told TheWolverine.com. "I know that is an awesome program, but he is a great player and I think he's the type of kid with his personality that he can fit anywhere. He's a corner and has the great hips."
