D-Line hinges on tackles
It's no secret that Texas A&M's defense needed work in the off-season after finishing the season ranked No. 109 in the nation - a far cry from A&M Wrecking Crew standards.
Drastic measures were taken after the season resulting in the loss of defensive coordinator Carl Torbush and the hiring of new defensive coordinator Gary Darnell who is implementing a brand new 4-2-5 alignment.
The one part of the defense that isn't changed in this formation is the defensive line. The defensive ends are a strength for the Aggies while the tackles have a depth issue.
At end the Aggies return Chris Harrington, Jason Jack and Michael Bennett. Harrington and Jack started in 2005 while Bennett proved to be a quick study in his true freshman season.
Harrington is a pass rush specialist that has worked at the rest of his game and may be the most complete end in an Aggie uniform, but Bennett showed that he might be the quickest in 2005.
