Insider Report: Final Preparations for Miami
Florida State completed its final full practice Friday afternoon under cloudy skies and unseasonably cool conditions. Next up for the team is a light 12-period walk-through practice Saturday morning, and then the coaches and players will head down to Miami Sunday at noon.
For head coach Bobby Bowden and his staff, Friday marked the 26th practice since the team first got together back on August 8th. A few of those practice were rained out, but all in all the weather cooperated and even more important, injuries were kept to a minimum. Outside of a handful of players with sprains, bumps and bruises, the bulk of the team is healthy and ready to roll into the season opener.
"The weather cooperated pretty good," Bowden said. "I think there were at least two times that we had to go inside but we could still go inside and accomplish some things with it and what you missed you could make up the next day when you got outside. The weather was good and the injuries were not a million of them. We couldn't ask for anymore as far as preparation is concerned right now."
