Stafford set for first start
With the loss of Joe Tereshinski for four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain, freshman Matthew Stafford has taken over the reigns in Athens. Mark Richt talked about his new signal caller and what his plans are for the coming games Sunday night.
"High ankle sprain is the layman's term for it," said Richt of Tereshinski's injury on the first drive against South Carolina. "Right now (Director of Sports Medicine) Ron (Courson) will be on crutches for at least a couple of weeks and maybe more. He said normally it is a four to six week injury, but knowing Joe, I would assume that he would be ready a little bit sooner than normal."
