Trent Williams is expected to be the answer
The loss of a starting offensive tackle is a major concern for any program across the country. Oklahoma has had their share of shaky moments throughout the years after losing starters along the offensive line.
Kevin Wilson scoured the nation a year ago, making the offensive line a major point of emphasis in the 2006 recruiting class. With only seven offensive lineman participating last spring, newcomers were going to have to provide depth this season.
After Branndon Braxton was lost for the season last weekend due to a broken fibula, that recruiting class will now send it's third starter into the game along the offensive line. That's because true freshman Trent Williams will take over Braxton's starting tackle slot.
Williams earned this opportunity because of his play in a backup role this season, and in particular, his play last weekend against Colorado.
Williams took 30 snaps in relief of Braxton. He logged seven knockdowns during those 30 plays on offense.
