No Peterson, no problem for OU
As of Tuesday morning, it appears Adrian Peterson isn't a strong possibility to play in Oklahoma Big 12 Championship showdown with Nebraska this Saturday in Kansas City. Bob Stoops talked about his availability after practice on Monday, but didn't give a promising outlook.
"Not definitive, but right now (Peterson's) highly unlikely. We're not anticipating that," said Stoops.
Stoops refused to say whether Peterson has had another bone scan to confirm whether or not his broken collarbone has healed enough to play.
The watch for Peterson continues to be a weekly occurrence but backup running backs and offensive lineman aren't letting his availability become a concern.
"We're just worried about coming and playing our game," said Chris Messner of waiting on Peterson. "We have confidence in whoever's back there. We can't say if AD is there we'd do so much better. We don't know that. I think us as offensive lineman, we can just come prepared to battle it out with whoever."
