With Amato on board, FSU has their new staff

Chuck Amato is back at Florida State.

After spending the last seven seasons as the head football coach at North Carolina State, Amato will now serve as the executive associate head coach and linebackers coach for the Seminoles. He replaces Kevin Steele, who resigned earlier this month to become the defensive coordinator at Alabama.

"I'm excited about being back on board at Florida State and the opportunity Coach Bowden is giving me," Amato said in a statement released by FSU. "I'm looking forward to working with Coach Bowden, Coach Andrews, Odell (Haggins) and John (Lilly) again as well as the rest of the staff. I'm also looking forward to working with everyone on the support staff at FSU. I know everybody there and we are so familiar with everything so I'm just very excited about that."

Amato is the fifth new coach added to Bobby Bowden's staff in the last two weeks, joining offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher, running backs coach Dexter Carter, receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey and offensive line coach Rick Trickett.

Only defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews, tight ends/recruiting coordinator John Lilly, defensive line coach Odell Haggins, defensive ends coach Jody Allen and strength and conditioning coach Jon Jost remain from the 2006 coaching staff.
