Rivals.com rates Marvin Austin as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the country. Some say he could be the best DT prospect to come out of high school in years. Whether it's been on the football field or in a camp/combine setting, Austin has dominated all comers with his combination of strength, size, athleticism and quickness. This past season he racked up 17 sacks. Just about every school in the nation has extended a scholarship but with signing day just weeks away, only a couple have a legitimate shot. Florida State defensive line coach Odell Haggins has really bonded with the five-star defender and as a result the 'Noles are the team to beat. It's unlikely that Austin will publicly commit after this weekend, but his visit should provide FSU with the opportunity to "close the deal". |
