Kansas State found a way to answer Kevin Durant: Uncanny accuracy from beyond the 3-point arc. Durant scored 32 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Longhorns, but it wasn't enough to keep a Wildcat team that made 14 of 27 3-point attempts from earning the type of marquee victory needed in its search for the program's first NCAA Tournament berth in more than a decade.

Wildcat coach Bob Huggins may have summed his team's effort up best with five short words in post game, "we shot it pretty well."

From the 4:55 mark in the first half through the remainder of the game, K-State (17-6, 6-2) made 19 field goals. Fourteen of them were 3-pointers.

Seven were made by Houston native Cartier Martin, a career best, including his last make with 41.2 seconds left to play that gave K-State a 71-68 lead it would never relinquish on its way to a 73-72 victory.

"The (shots) were feeling good. I was feeling good."
