Junior Tristan Davis has flip-flopped between safety and tailback so many times it's tough to keep count.

But the speedster found himself back at running back for the start of spring drills Tuesday, a move that head coach Tommy Tuberville said is permanent.

To say Davis is thrilled might be an understatement.

"It amps me up," said Davis. "Deep down inside, I've always been a running back. I've just been a running back that's able to play defense in a lot of peoples' eye."
