First day of spring ball a success
Wednesday marked the first day of spring practice and Arizona's football players were excited to take the field for the first time since November.
It marked the fourth spring ball of the Mike Stoops era, but the real story of the day was the fact that new offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes was able to start implementing his new offense.
No matter if you ask the offensive players learning the new system or the defenders going against it, the first day of practice was a success.
"It's good to get out and get your feet wet and see how the offense is doing," said senior linebacker Spencer Larsen. "A lot of things have changed and it's exciting to see the offense come through and improve as fast as they have."
"It was a little bit of a new experience trying to learn a new offense," said redshirt freshman tight end A.J. Simmons.
The spring will be a learning process for the entire team, as a college offense can't be built overnight.
