National attention pouring in for Williams
With Oklahoma's impressive start to the class of 2008, the one position that can't help but stand out has been their recruiting along the offensive line. With so many talented early commitments, it's easy to forget that the Sooners are still targeting numerous offensive line prospects across the country.
One that they have been on again and off again with is within their own state's borders. That player is of course Tulsa Booker T. Washington offensive guard John Williams. The 6-foot-3, 320-pound lineman was recently at the Red-White game but due to a late arrival didn't spend much time with the coaches.
Williams, who recently picked up his first offer from Tulsa, has been receiving a lot of new mail from some of the nation's elite national programs. The list of schools includes many schools who don't frequently find their way to The Sooner State, including Michigan, Tennessee, LSU, Florida and Florida State.
