Class this fall: True junior
Injury status: Dislocated his elbow last November against Western Michigan. Was fully recovered by the start of spring practice and his elbow is no longer an issue.
2006 Stats: 88 carries for 456 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and 5 touchdowns / 21 catches for 174 yards (8.3 yards per catch).
Projected 2007 Stats: 219 carries for 1,270 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and 11 touchdowns / 30 catches for 309 yards (10.3 yards per catch) and 3 touchdowns
Senior Stats in High School: 240 carries for 2,814 yards (11.7 yards per carry) and 44 touchdowns. High School Accolades: Rated by Rivals.com as a five-star prospect the top all-purpose running back in the country and the No. 25 overall player in the nation. In addition to being the Palm Beach County Player of the Year, Smith earned the coveted "Mr. Football Award" given to the top prep player in Florida. At the 2004 Miami NIKE Camp was named the MVP and recorded a 40-time of 4.25 seconds. Smith played in the Cali-Florida Bowl and was named offensive MVP for the Florida Team. He led his Pahokee team to the state title and ran for 276 yards and three touchdowns in the championship game.
