Garvin looking to make plays
It's a secret to no one that speed is Florida State corner Michael Ray Garvin's primary weapon. If anyone wasn't aware, he has an NCAA gold medal in the outdoor 4x100-meter relay and a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash for evidence.
"I've already run with the elite in the nation," the three-time track and field All-American said of his time with the two-time national champion men's track team.
Now he prepares to run against the elite football teams of the nation, and one of his goals as the 2007 season approaches is to make that blistering speed even more powerful. To do that, he said, it's not about getting faster. It's about improving his technique as a defensive back, staying square and staying on top of the wide receiver.
