Tailback Notebook: Stafon Speaks
For many players, fall camp is an opportunity to prove themselves, secure playing time and eventually make the transition into an entrenched starters. For Stafon Johnson it's much more.
It's an opportunity at redemption for a disappointing freshman. It's an opportunity to become a man, both on and off the field. It's also an opportunity to honor a lost mentor.
"Unfortunately, I just lost my grand-dad who used to be here everyday for every practice," Johnson said after practice Monday. "I lost him about a month and a half ago, so all the guys know that's a big loss for me so they're trying to help me replace a big part of my life.
