A Fresh Start
CHATHAM, Va. - Kinston (N.C.) defensive end Quinton Coples enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy earlier this week, where he will spend the next year. The 6-7, 235-pound standout needs work academically in order to qualify next year to the college he chooses, and the experience of playing against better competition should help him on the field as well.
"The experience is great. I'm up here to get prepared for college mentally and physically," Coples said. "It's a big plus for me from high school or whatever. The coaches at the high school (Kinston) have the mentality, but I felt like there was a better coaching staff with a better mentality up here that know where I need to go, and how to get me there."
As a player, Coples is working to improve his pass rushing skills over the next year, while obviously paying very close attention to his studies.
