Reddick making local visits
New Bern (N.C.) linebacker Kevin Reddick plans to take in a couple of college games this fall, but he is primarily focused right now on helping the Bears reach the 4-A playoffs and compete for a state title. New Bern was handled in its season opener on the road at Wilmington Hoggard, 39-13, but they responded nicely in their two ensuing games, defeating Bertie County, 33-8, and Wilmington Laney, 42-0.
The 6-2, 210-pounder, who is arguably the best uncommitted linebacker in the state, took an unofficial visit to nearby East Carolina, where he saw the Pirates beat North Carolina 34-31 in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Reddick plans to visit Chapel Hill again in the relatively near future, although he said it was more likely that he'd attend the Miami game in Kenan Stadium October 6 as opposed to this weekend's matchup against Virginia.
