White laments turnovers
When it was over Pat White had put on another numbers spectacular. Wracking up almost 300 total yards (295) for the third week in a row, the West Virginia quarterback had pulled his team within one game of the Big East championship and goodness knows what else in this wild, wacky football season.
Yet White refused to take congratulations from a band of fans that crowded a corner of Nippert Stadium after the 28-23 stand-off against Cincinnati was over. His mistakes were his focus when it was done.
Like in the Louisville game, the junior quarterback let go of the ball in inopportune times. He threw a first half interception, fumbled a ball, and then pulled out too quickly from a center exchange as the Bearcats nearly fought all the way back from a 28-10 deficit.
