Video: Dantonio, Spartans building toward scrimmage
EAST LANSING - Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio met with members of the local media following Tuesday's indoor practice at the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
Dantonio and his team have only been able to practice one time this spring, but Michigan State's second-year head coach is looking forward to getting outside on Thursday and a number of times after that.
Practicing indoors is better than practicing in the mud and it has not hampered much of what Michigan State has been looking to accomplish during spring football. But Dantonio said it does alter some of the things the Spartans can do with their special teams.
"That's the biggest thing," said Dantonio of the special teams limitations. "I do think there is something to practicing outside with the wind and different things. We will be able to get outside for around eight of the practices. I feel pretty confident about that."
After practice on Tuesday, Dantonio said that he is looking to get maximum development from the young players on Michigan State's roster.
