Sooners make first offer at tight end
Few programs in the state of Oklahoma have been as successful in recent years as Oklahoma City Bishop McGuinness, and while the school has produced many talented high school football players, however truly elite college prospects have been in short supply. That seems to have changed this year with the emergence of Gabe Ikard, a tight end who already holds offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Kansas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State.
On Friday he picked up another big offer from the Big 12 when Kevin Wilson checked out the irish's final spring practice prior to their finals next week.
"(McGuinness Head) Coach (Kenny) Young told me yesterday that they were coming to watch me," Ikard said. "So of course we changed our offense a little bit and I caught like 12 passes today in our hour long scrimmage. You could say the offense was tweaked (laughing).
