Rogers working hard
Running back Brad Rogers made an early commitment to Iowa so he could focus solely on his upcoming senior season at Toledo Central Catholic. Since making his verbal pledge in April, that is exactly what the 5-foot-10, 230-pound Rogers has been doing as he has been hard at work this summer training with his team.
As a junior, Rogers rushed for 634 yards and 12 touchdowns with most of his workload coming in the first six games before an ankle injury limited him in the second half of the season. When the Hawkeyes were the first school to offer this spring, the bruising running back went ahead and accepted, committing on his father's birthday in late April.
Rogers stays in regular contact with the Iowa coaching staff, mainly lead recruiter Phil Parker, and looks forward to making it to Kinnick Stadium for a home game this fall.
Rivals.com ranks Rogers as a three-star prospect and the No. 46 running back in the nation in the 2009 recruiting class.
