2010 CB bursting onto national scene
True cornerbacks are few and far between these days. They are hard to find as many skill position players prefer the offensive side of the ball, where they tend to receive more glory. Therefore, when a prospect comes along that can truly play the position, he will find himself gaining attention from schools across the country. That is exactly the case with a class of 2010 defender from the Houston area.
Fort Bend Marshall's Toney Hurd Jr. has already put his name on the recruiting map. The 5-foot-10, 179-pound junior recently had an interesting conversation with a coach at one of college football's powerhouse programs.
"Right now, recruiting is lovely," said Hurd. "Earlier this week, I actually got to talk to USC. I talked to coach Ken Norton. They said they're going to make their move on me come September. I'm going to go to the Rising Stars camp out there next summer."
