For the last three seasons, defenses faced two scenarios against West Virginia's choice option offense.

Defenders could key on quarterback Pat White, but end up watching superback Steve Slaton disappear through the offensive line. Or, focus on Slaton, and permit 5 to freeze a defensive end, and keep the ball for another scamper.

Slaton's departure may have left White without a roommate, but the Mountaineers should enjoy a tailback consortium.
