Singleton back on the market?
Plantation (FL) American Heritage Brent Singleton committed to South Carolina in late June, but after a couple months he is taking official visits to other schools. Over this past weekend he took his first official to Syracuse University.
"I went up to Syracuse over the weekend. The visit was good, they have a nice campus."
Singleton, 6-foot-0, 194 pounds went on this visit knowing a couple of the current Orange football players and one of them was his host.
"Dorian Graham was my host," Singleton said. "He is cool, I know him from down here in Florida," Singleton stated. "He said that they are young and that they need to get more Florida guys up there."
In Syracuse this past weekend there was a lot to see. Friday the world premiere of The Express was showing in Syracuse and that was followed up by a football game against the high powered Penn State Nittany Lions. This weekend had a lot to take in, so what were Singleton's thoughts on the trip?
"They have nice coaches. My favorite part was probably the campus tour. I just liked the feel of the campus and how it looks," Singleton also added his thoughts on the Orange facilities. "They were kind of like South Carolina's facilities, they were nice."
The name of Ernie Davis is very big in the history of college football and the Sunshine State product learned about his legacy this weekend. He also had some nice words to share about Davis.
"I think that he was a great guy from the sound of it and he was a great player."
Right now the only official visit he has taken was to Syracuse, but he does plan to take more trips.
"I am taking all of my visits still, well I think so. I know I am going to South Carolina. I already took an unofficial, so now I am going to take my official. That is all I know right now."
Even though he plans on visiting a few schools Singleton still remains committed to South Carolina.
"As of now I am still a solid verbal to South Carolina."
Can another school make him back out of his original commitment? Singleton had a simple response to the question.
"I don't know I really don't know."
