Stewart explains late game moves
MORGANTOWN-Bill Stewart explained what might be considered dubious time management and play-calling in the waning minutes of regulation of last Thursday's bitter overtime loss at the hands of Colorado that has sent West Virginia football fans reeling ever since.
With the game tied 14-14 with 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, on two potential chances to use two timeouts which were available, Stewart let the clock drain until four seconds remained. After play halted, Pat White's pass down field pass went incomplete. This forced overtime and Pat McAfee missed a 23-yard field goal. McAfee's failed attempted handed possession of the ball and the game back to Colorado.
