...::THE OFFENSE

SHE SAYS::...

OK, just a word of warning…I'll try not to get too gushy about the win,
but it is already Sunday as I write this and I thought some of the afterglow
would have faded by now, but it hasn't.

The offense displayed a solid effort all the way around, especially given the
talent of USC's defense. Lyle Moevao was in command all night and the
offense's first drive of the game was an absolute thing of beauty.

The coaches did a marvelous job with the play calling and taking advantage of
the multiple weapons they had at their disposal.

I could go on and talk about every member of the unit, but I won't…I do
have to make mention of Brady Camp however. He had two clutch receptions
and blocked well when he was in the game.

My game ball goes to…drum roll please…the offensive line. There was
so much talk this summer/fall about the depth, but the big boys up front have
gelled and are playing incredibly well. USC's front seven are a collection of
the top rated players in the country. Oregon State started a walk-on redshirt
freshman in Mike Remmers and a redshirt sophomore center in Alex Linnenkohl. Throw in Gregg Peat, Andy Levitre, and Adam Speer and they more than took care of business, breaking open holes all
evening for Jacquizz Rodgers and protecting Moevao all night (giving
up only one sack).

What this tells me is while Oregon State has some very talented players at
the line, Coach Mike Cavanaugh deserves a huge helping of praise for
the work that he has done with the line.
