Bringing 'Dietzel-ball' home
Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer and his Hokies have long been known for their special teams and ability to score in any way, shape or form.
Saturday, it was the Hokies who were Beamerized.
In WKU's 27-13 loss at Virgina Tech, the Toppers executed an onside kick and completed a pass off a fake punt that was run into the end zone. The play was called back for a block in the back penalty, but was still good for 46 yards.
The Toppers also unveiled the return of the duel quarterback system, with senior David Wolke and sophomore Dexter Taylor. Wolke was the starter, with Taylor coming in on certain package calls and running 14 times for 96 yards.
Both players went over the new set-up, along with senior kicker Tanner Siewert in today's media day press conference.

Coach Elson and inside linebackers coach Cary Marquell also addressed the media on the Toppers' positives from Virginia Tech as well as the return home this weekend, to face Ball State, ranked No. 25 in the AP poll.Marquell played and coached at Ball State.
Elson also passed along the credit with special teams to coordinator Mike Dietzel. The Toppers will return with the newly found 'Dietzel-ball' Saturday.
