With or without Franklin, offense struggles
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville fired offensive coordinator Tony Franklin earlier in the week. Tuberville said he was looking for more production from the offense.
He put Steve Ensminger in charge hoping to get a spark out of the Tigers' struggling unit. He started Kodi Burns in place of Chris Todd.
None of it worked Saturday night against Arkansas.
Auburn's offense amassed 193 total yards of offense, but had just 18 yards midway through the second quarter and 53 at halftime. The Tigers couldn't run. They surely couldn't pass.
Auburn rushed the ball 33 times for 56 yards, a 1.7-yard average. Burns and Todd combined to connect on just 10-of-28 passes, no touchdowns and three interceptions.
Auburn lost to Arkansas 25-22 to fall to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC.
