North Shore junior safety getting his name out
Galena Park North Shore is currently in the midst of the state of Texas' longest regular season winning streak in history. The Mustangs have won 77 consecutive games in a streak that stretches eight seasons. Despite one of their toughest schedules ever this season, the streak has remained intact.
Perhaps the biggest reason they have been able to keep winning as long as they have is the strong defensive tradition of the program. This year is no different as they boast several Division I prospects. However, it is a somewhat-undersized junior safety in Alton Demby that has seemingly been the leader of the unit. This past weekend, in a 48-7 win over Baytown Lee, he returned two punts for touchdowns. It was not his first two-touchdown game of the season.
"Yes sir, I've had two other touchdowns," said the 5-foot-10, 180-pound junior. "Against Port Arthur Memorial, I returned an interception and I also picked up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, too. I have two interceptions on the season and I just looked at my stats the other day and I have like 30-something solo tackles."
